In 2014, I moved to Perth to join the New Museum Project, a cross-functional team charged with realizing the 23,000-m² redevelopment of the Western Australian Museum. Opening in 2020 in the Perth Cultural Centre, the New Museum is being developed with a ‘People First’ philosophy, providing meaningful opportunities for people across the State to have input into the content and visitor experiences.
As Lead Curator, I collaborate with diverse stakeholders and community groups to develop multidisciplinary exhibitions that reflect the dynamic cultural and biological diversity of Western Australia.
Sharing multiple perspectives, including scientific interpretations alongside Indigenous knowledge, is at the core of my curatorial work. I research and write exhibition and program content, develop physical and multimedia interactives and share stories that explore a range of topics—from migration and marine conservation to climate change adaptation and Cretaceous dinosaur track interpretation.
